The young colt was found and taken in by the legendary Swords of Justice, who swore to protect pokemon from the then hostile human race. Whilst training him in the art of the blade, they became his family. Many decades later, Keldeo grows restless and leaves the other Swords, seeking to achieve strength on a personal journey of his own. Ultimately however, he finds his way back to the pokemon who raised him, and gains his Resolute Form after being taught his ultimate power, the move "Secret Sword."Now, Keldeo continues to protect pokemon in an ever-changing world, but to do so, he must also learn to overcome his biases and realize that mankind is growing and changing as well. To continue to inspire future generations, he must work alongside them as well.

PERSONALITY.

Though young, often short-tempered, and somewhat proud and strong-willed, Keldo always strives to do the right thing when others are in danger and when justice is in need of being served. He puts his skills to use in sparring, battling, and during rescue missions when pokemon are in need of help. His image of humans is still biased as he has been raised with the idea that they are inflictions on the environment, but has since begun to understand their ways, much like his mentors. He hardly ever trusts an adult though, not hesitating to show aggression if one were to make him uncomfortable. With children, Keldeo is more willing to open up.Keldeo likes to add a bit of dramatic flare whenever he’s fighting, and his victories still haven’t ceased to fuel his ego. He doesn’t take criticism as harshly as he used to but there are times when the colt will refuse to suck up his pride, even in the face of Cobalion, the leader of the swordsmen and his wisest teacher.Keldeo is also a slight masochist; there will be times when he feels he needs to punish himself if he fails a mission or is unable to save lives from certain death. This is the result of an event he experienced when he was younger, when his own hubris and disobedience lead to an injured Virizion and the loss of several pokemon's lives in a fire. Keldeo will often push his physical strength to the limit, to the point of nearly injuring himself when there is an obstacle he's not strong enough to overcome. Sometimes, this is done intentionally.Nevertheless, Keldeo’s strength and skill are nothing to sneeze at. His powerful hooves, water type attacks, and signature horn can do plenty of damage to many who have opposed him. However, Keldeo never wishes to use his powers for evil; only to be known for the great deeds he’s done as an apprentice to the three great swordsmen pokemon and perform justly acts that will make him just as great as them one day.

ABILITIES & SKILLS.

  • MOVESET. For the sake of flexibility in threads, Keldeo can access any move that is available in his movepool. However, his moves of choice are Secret Sword, Hydro Pump, Bubble Beam, and Quick Guard.

  • WATER WALKING. Keldeo has the ability to walk on the surface of the water, allowing to cross large bodies with little trouble. This ability often comes in handy during travel.

  • TELEPATHY. The ability to speak and communicate with others by sending messages through the mind. Keldeo uses this abiltiy to communicate with human beings and other creatures who cannot understand his pokemon tongue.

  • COMBAT SKILLS. Keldeo has a lot of experience in combat, making him not only a very capable defender but also a difficult foe. He has managed to succeed in excelling above his three mentors, the Swords of Justice.

  • ORDINARY FORM. Keldeo's ordinary form is the form he took prior to learning Secret Sword and the form he takes when weak/otherwise unable to use Secret Sword. This form is substancially weaker than his Resolute Form, and after having gained the latter appearance, taking his ordinary form is seen as embarrassing and humiliating to him—its a sting at his pride. In verses where Keldeo is younger, this is the appearance he always takes.

  • JUMPING. Keldeo can jump at great heights and lengths, allowing him to cover vast traces of land in a short amount of time.

HISTORY.

Keldeo was born in the Moor of Icirrus, within the Unova Region, in a time where the humans were at war with each other. While it seemed that his early years would be calm, at best, this war was what ultimately separated him from his birth parents, when a fire broke out within the swamp caused by the warring humans' actions. The young colt was eventually found and rescued by the Swords of Justice; Virizion, Terrakion, and Cobalion. However, there was no sign of his parents, and searches came up fruitless. Keldeo was left an orphan. After long discussion and debate, the Swords of Justice decided to take in the colt and raise him as their own. They acted as his parents, nurturing him while also teaching him how to survive and defend himself on his own. When Keldeo showed potential as a swordsman and a member of the group, they began to train him more intensely.Under the lessons of Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion, Keldeo developed skill in agility, strength, and perserverance. He even came to learn the move Sacred Sword, an attack that was only known by his own mentors. But, despite his prodigious talents, the colt had trouble learning patience and humility. His growing skills fueled his ego; and often when he began to feel that his foster parents' lessons weren't enough, he would take off to challenge the wild pokemon in they places they travelled to.Neither did Keldeo seem as interested in helping pokemon for the sake of good deeds; he wanted to become legendary like his mentors. He often did his duties without humility or modesty; he fought for the glory and the attention, not yet practicing chivalry like the rest of the swordsmen. His hubris would eventually get the best of him during another devastating fire.
It was during this particular fire that Keldeo had failed to follow orders, and instead focused moreso on battling the flames than assisting pokemon who were in need of help. It was during this particular event that Virizion became injured from a fallen tree. The young colt finally rushed to her aid, abandoning his efforts, and managed to lead her to safety alongside Terrakion and Cobalion. Some pokemon were not so fortunate that night, and Cobalion pinned much of the blame on Keldeo, particularly for disobeying his orders. Keldeo learned that night that his actions could also do more harm than good, and to this day he still blames himself for Virizion being hurt.
From that day forward, Keldeo began to respect others and showed more modesty around his power. Though secretly seeking glory deep down inside, he also sought to become just as righteous and just as his mentors, to make up for his actions and for the lives that were lost in that very fire. And when Keldeo felt he learned as much as he could from his mentors, he ran away—seeking out ways to improve his skills and push himself to the limit in hopes he could become stronger—so that he could overcome more obstacles for the sake of others. For several months, Keldeo went on his own, training to reach his full potential and helping several pokemon along the way. However, he never could have unlocked it on his own. As time went by, Keldeo began to feel homesick, and missed the company of his mentors. After training hard the young colt began his journey in search of the Sacred Swordsmen. It wouldn't be until he came to the Moor of Icirrus, the very place of his birth, that he finally reunited with them once more. Keldeo was welcomed by his caretakers and praised for his merits, and when the time was right, Cobalion, Virizion, and Terrakion helped Keldeo finally unlock his full potential; and learning the move Secret Sword. Along with it, Keldeo gained a new form; his Resolute Form, which he now currently takes. To this day, Keldeo still trains with the Swords of Justice as the youngest member of the group. He travels the world, still seeking to become renowned as one of the greatest members of the quartet—but content to be the young defender of the pokemon race.
